Server Uptime: Bluehost ?

The bench mark for server uptime, when choosing a web host is 90.90% . BlueHost, carries a lot of websites on his servers and sometimes, they can have technical issues; but not frequently.

Their server uptime is 99.96% to 99.98%.
That translates to 1 hour, 45 to 50 minutes per year.

BlueHost, used to have server problems at times, but not frequent.
So, for Server Uptime presently, I give them an A.

Page load speed: Bluehost?

A research conducted by  Google, found out that:
As page load time goes from 1 second to 3 seconds; the probability of bounce increases by 32%

This means that your site visitors, being more 32% more likely to leave your site; and it only get worse with longer page load times.

Google is more geared towards mobile first indexing. This means, that your site also needs to be optimized for mobile users or other wise, you will loose traffic; because your website is slow.

BlueHost Page load speed is between 560ms to 688ms. The problem with page load speed is a shared one. That means , on the web hosting providers path, it may be due to outdated server technology, much hosted website on server base(especially shared hosting plans) and on your path, it may be due to the heavy and bucky images on your pages, poor image optimization and other factors that are related to your page cache.

For page loading speed, I give them a B.

Pricing: BlueHost?

BlueHost regular hosting price is $3.59, although not the cheapest around; HostGator, is far more cheaper than that; However, they offer special discounts and I negotiated a big discount price for you.

So you can host your website with bluehost for just $2.95, coupled with a free domain name for a whole year, free SSL certificate, 50GB storage and Unmetered Bandwidth when you use this Discount Link.

Obviously, BlueHost is one of the cheapest Web Hosting available. For  Pricing, I give them an A.

Security :BlueHost?

For security, BlueHost is not left out. Some Web Host company, boost of security features that aren't very reliable.

For BlueHost, they offer Free SSL certificate( a must, if your site should appear on search engines), Free Cloudfare Content Delivery Network(CDN), one click WordPress Install, Multiple CMS Integrations, Additional Ecommerce plugins, Spam expert Ad ons, domain Privacy protection, server backups for your site.

BlueHost, also offer advanced security features. Such as:

Sitelock; prevents malware attacks.
Codeguard; daily backups; so that you can restore, previous versions of your site, should it vet hacked.

Postini from Google; for Spam protection from your email, so anything suspicious is prevented from getting into your email inbox.

For security features, an A is obvious, right?

Ease of Use: BlueHost?

Some of the web host you have seen are only considered the best, only for advanced users. The ease of use of BlueHost, gave it a too recommendation from WordPress.org.

BlueHost Cpanel, gives you a point and click interface for WordPress design, so WordPress installation is just in one click.

For ease of use, BlueHost deserves as A+

Bluehost Cpanel one click WordPress install.

Customer support; BlueHost?

Bluehost provides 24/7 customer support over different channels.
Live Chat, Phone and email support. Although, their customer friendliness is great; but their Live Chat seems as if you're talking to a robot; some words are often repeated and its so obvious that you're not talking to a human.

However, these doesn't limit their answers to your uprising website issues and speedy answers to your questions.

Bluehost, also provides a vast knowledge base, called Bluetopia for frequent questions and useful information.
For support, Bluehost gets a B

Site transfer:BlueHost?

Bluehost only stated offering site transfer recently with all their plans.
If your site is on BlueHost and you want to transfer, the terms and conditions parents so suitable; and you may get tired or exhausted with their style.

For site transfer, BlueHost gets a D

BlueHost Downside

High Renewal Rate
Although, this is peculiar to all web hosting company and bluehost is not left out.
Renewal rate is $11.99 per year.

Low plan few Restrictions
If you're not going for BlueHost recommended plan(all web hosting company does this)
There are few restrictions applicable to plans below the recommended.

My Final Thoughts

If you're a beginner and you want to build a website, then BlueHost is for you.

If you want to build a WordPress website, BlueHost is also a good option, if not the best.

If you want to transfer your site, from another web host to BlueHost, Don't choose BlueHost. You can go with Hostgator.
